Common name: Leopard Lily | Dumb Cane
Native to: Central and South America
*** Plant height on delivery: Approx. 80cm with pot ***
Description: A robust plant, very forgiving of neglect and excellent at regenerating. Dieffenbachias provide a fantastic focal point - particularly when housed in an attractive pot.
Possibly one of the most captivating cultivars, this 'Reflector' displays delightful mottled patterning. Dark forest green leaves are embellished with pretty chartreuse speckles, making for highly dramatic foliage.
Light: Diffused sunlight or light shade.
Water: Let the potting mix dry out before watering with tepid water, ensuring it reaches root level. Aroids such as these are forgiving if under-watered. Root rot however is a far more difficult recovery.
Temperature: These plants enjoy typical indoor temperatures (18-24°C / 64-75 F)
Humidity: These plants love moisture in the air so will do best in this situation, however they can tolerate average room humidity.
Fertiliser: Once the plant has acclimatised to its position, a weak solution of general houseplant fertiliser can be applied monthly throughout summer.
Potting mix: For aroids like these we use a typical aroid potting mix for them (loose, airy and extremely well draining).
Notes: These plants are mildly toxic of eaten, so if your pets have a propensity to eat plants, this plant is probably best avoided.
