Description: Recently re-classified as Thaumatophyllum xanadu, this distinctive rainforest plant has large, low-spreading, lobed upright growth. The deeply split leaves add a lovely tropical vibe to your home. A handsome plant.

Difficulty: Easy
Light: Medium to bright indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves so best avoided.
Water: Moderate - allow the potting mix dry out before the next watering, as root rot is a difficult recovery.
Temperature: These plants enjoy typical indoor temperatures (18-24°C / 64-75 F)
Humidity: Moderate to higher room humidity. It will appreciate occasional light misting.
Fertiliser: Once the plant has acclimatised to its position, a weak solution of general houseplant fertiliser can be applied monthly throughout summer.
Potting mix: A light, very well draining mix is best. Soil additives like perlite/coco chips/pumice are all good options.
