Common name: Dwarf Umbrella Plant
Native to: Taiwan and South China
Description: Undemanding, easy to care for and relatively fast growing - these Scheffleras make excellent houseplants.
This Luceana is a pleasingly compact variety with showy, glossy green leaves reminiscent of little umbrellas. It can be pruned to keep it compact if space is restricted, or allowed to grow into a tall specimen plant. In either scenario, this is an unquestionably pretty plant.
*** Plant height on delivery: Approx. 100cm with pot ***
Difficulty: Easy
Light: Thrives best in a bright spot, and a few hours of direct sunlight each day are happily tolerated. Near east or west facing windows are best.
Water: Moderate - allow the potting mix dry out before the next watering, as root rot is a difficult recovery.
Temperature: These plants enjoy typical indoor temperatures (18-24°C / 64-75 F)
Humidity: Moderate room humidity will suffice but they will appreciate light mistings.
Fertiliser: Once the plant has acclimatised to its position, a weak solution of general houseplant fertiliser can be applied every three months throughout summer.
Potting mix: For these arboricolas we use a well-draining, sandy, slightly acidic soil.
